Thank you for visiting our website. My name is Ian Bryce and I'm the skipper of our family's fishing vessel, the NERKA#1. We fish for albacore tuna on the North Pacific Ocean, offshore from California to the Queen Charlotte Islands.

A few years ago we realized that little or no North Pacific albacore tuna was available locally. It was all going to sushi restaurants or to markets overseas. We began to develop and sell the line of products we are proud to offer as Natural Gift Seafoods. We use only our own premium quality albacore tuna for all our Natural Gift Seafoods products. All of our products are processed and packaged in Canadian government HAACP inspected and approved facilities. We stand behind our products 100%.

We are as proud of our fish as we are of our fishery. The fish we catch are young, healthy, and are rich in Omega 3. Our fishery is one of the greenest and cleanest in the world. With all the bad news about depleted fish stocks, destructive and energy- intensive commercial fishing methods we are proud to be part of a fishery that is well managed and sustainable. The albacore jig fishery produces almost zero bycatch.

The albacore tuna we catch are surface feeders, and will come up from as deep as 70 meters to take a jig. Once hooked, the fish are brought in to the boat, stunned, bled, thoroughly washed. The fish are immediately put on freezer plates in the hold, where they are quickly frozen to -30 c.. Fast freezing and extremely cold temperatures ensure that our fish maintains its high quality from the moment it's caught until you serve it.

Our fish have been recognized by environmental stewardship organizations like the Vancouver Aquarium's "Ocean Wise" program and the Monterrey Bay Aquarium's "Seafood Watch" program. As a member of the B.C. Tuna Fishermen's Association, our fishery has received certification by the Marine Stewardship Council. We support the Nature Trust of B.C. and contribute a portion of all our sales to the Nature Trust of B.C.

Thanks again for your interest in Natural Gift Seafoods. You can find our products at the fish shops and markets listed in the WHERE TO BUY link, or you can order online. If you have any questions about our company, our fishery or our products, please feel free to contact me.

Yours, Truly, Ian Bryce
